Instructions
Make the Pretzel Crust
- Prepare the Crust: Start by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the pretzels in a food processor and pulse until they’re finely crushed (or put them in a zip-top bag and crush them with a rolling pin).
- Combine Ingredients: In a medium bowl, combine the crushed pretzels, sugar, and melted butter. Stir until everything is well mixed.
- Press Into Pie Dish: Press the pretzel mixture into the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch pie dish. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the crust is lightly golden. Let it cool completely before filling.
Prepare the Strawberry Filling
- Cream the Cheese: In a medium mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with powdered sugar until smooth and creamy.
- Add Strawberry Puree: Add the strawberry puree, lemon juice (if using), and vanilla extract. Mix until fully combined.
- Fold in Whipped Topping: Gently fold in the whipped topping (or whipped cream) until the mixture is light and airy.
- Fill the Crust: Once the pretzel crust has cooled, pour the strawberry filling into the crust and spread it evenly.
Chill the Pie
- Chill: Place the pie in the refrigerator and let it chill for 2-3 hours, or until it’s set and firm.
Top the Pie
- Whipped Topping: Once the pie is chilled and set, top it with a generous layer of whipped topping (or whipped cream).
