- 1 cup light corn syrup
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3 large eggs
- 1 1/2 cups pecan halves
Instructions
Make the Pie Crust
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, combine flour and salt.
- Cut in Butter: Add the cubed butter and mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Add Ice Water: Gradually add ice water, one tablespoon at a time, mixing until the dough comes together.
- Chill the Dough: Form the dough into a disk, wrap it in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
- Roll Out: Once chilled, roll out the dough on a floured surface to fit a 9-inch pie plate. Place the rolled dough into the pie plate and trim the edges. Prick the bottom with a fork.
Prepare the Filling
- Combine Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, whisk together corn syrup, brown sugar, vanilla extract, salt, and eggs until well combined.
- Add Pecans: Stir in the pecan halves until evenly distributed.
Assemble the Pie
- Pour Filling: Pour the pecan filling into the prepared pie crust, spreading the pecans evenly.
- Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 50-55 minutes, or until the filling is set and the crust is golden brown.
- Cool: Allow the pie to cool at room temperature for at least 2 hours before slicing.
