Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup peanut butter (smooth or crunchy, depending on your preference)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
Prepare the Fudge Base
- Melt the Butter and Peanut Butter: In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter and peanut butter together. Stir constantly until fully melted and smooth.
- Mix in the Sugar: Once the butter and peanut butter are combined, remove from the heat and stir in the powdered sugar until fully incorporated. This is the point where the fudge starts to come together.
- Add Vanilla and Salt: Stir in the vanilla extract and salt. This will add depth to the flavor and make the fudge extra delicious.
- Mix Until Smooth: Stir everything together until the mixture is completely smooth and thick. This is the key to getting that perfect, creamy texture.
- Prepare the Pan: Line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper or wax paper for easy removal of the fudge later.
- Pour and Spread: Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared dish and use a spatula to spread it into an even layer.
- Chill: Refrigerate the fudge for at least 50 minutes, or until firm to the touch. If you’re in a hurry, you can even freeze it for a quicker set, but be sure to let it cool down before cutting.
Cut and Serve
- Cut into Squares: Once the fudge has set, remove it from the pan and cut it into squares. The number of pieces will depend on how large or small you want each serving.
- Serve and Enjoy: Serve immediately or store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week.
- Prep Time: 10 min.
- Refrigeration Time: 50 min.
