Frozen Snowball Punch

  • Author: Christine
  • Total Time: 10 min.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Punch Base:

  • 1 cup frozen orange juice concentrate, thawed
  • 1 cup frozen lemonade concentrate, thawed
  • 1/2 cup pineapple juice
  • 1/2 cup lemon-lime soda or club soda
  • 1/2 cup coconut milk (or dairy milk for a less tropical taste)
  • 12 tablespoons sugar or honey (optional, depending on sweetness preference)
  • 1/2 cup water

For the Ice Cream Layer:

  • 1 pint vanilla ice cream (or coconut milk ice cream for a dairy-free version)
  • 1/2 cup crushed ice (for a snowball effect)

For Garnishing (Optional but Recommended):

  • Fresh mint sprigs
  • Orange slices or wedges
  • Pineapple chunks
  • Maraschino cherries

Instructions

Prepare the Punch Base

  1. Mix the Juice: In a large mixing bowl, combine the thawed orange juice concentrate, lemonade concentrate, and pineapple juice.
  2. Add the Liquid Ingredients: Stir in the coconut milk (or dairy milk), water, and lemon-lime soda (or club soda) to the mixture. Add sweetener if desired, tasting to see if the punch needs a little extra sweetness.
  3. Chill: Pour the punch base into a large container or pitcher and place it in the refrigerator to chill for at least an hour.

Create the Ice Cream Layer

  1. Prepare the Ice Cream: Allow the vanilla ice cream to soften slightly at room temperature for easier scooping.
  2. Scoop the Ice Cream: Using a spoon, scoop large spoonfuls of ice cream into the punch bowl. Drop them into the base of the punch to create a “snowball” effect. Gently stir to mix, but don’t fully incorporate—the ice cream should remain slightly frozen and visible for a fun presentation.
  3. Freeze the Punch: Place the punch mixture back into the freezer for about 4 hours (or overnight) to allow the ice cream to freeze into the punch base.

Serve the Punch

  1. Prepare the Serving Area: Once the punch is frozen and ready, prepare your glasses or punch bowl for serving.
  2. Garnish: Add fresh mint sprigs, slices of orange, pineapple chunks, or maraschino cherries to each glass for a festive touch.
  3. Pour and Enjoy: Pour the punch into glasses, ensuring that everyone gets a scoop of frozen ice cream. Add a garnish to each glass and serve immediately.
