  • Author: Christine
  • Total Time: 30 min.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Crostini:

  • 1 French baguette, sliced into 1/2-inch pieces
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For the Cranberry Topping:

  • 1 cup fresh or frozen cranberries
  • 1/2 cup orange juice (freshly squeezed, if possible)
  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup (adjust based on sweetness preference)
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)

Instructions

Prepare the Crostini

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Toast the Baguette: Arrange the baguette slices on a baking sheet. Drizzle with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
  3. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-15 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and crispy. Flip halfway through for even toasting.
  4. Cool: Remove from the oven and let cool slightly.

Prepare the Cranberry Topping

  1. Cook the Cranberries: In a medium saucepan, combine cranberries, orange juice, honey (or maple syrup), orange zest, and cinnamon.
  2. Simmer: Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the cranberries burst and the mixture thickens, about 10 minutes.
  3. Cool: Remove from heat and let cool slightly before using.
