- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
Prepare the Dough
- Cream Butter and Cream Cheese: In a large mixing bowl, use an electric mixer to beat the softened butter and cream cheese until smooth and creamy.
- Add Sugars: Mix in the granulated sugar and brown sugar, beating until light and fluffy.
- Incorporate Egg and Vanilla: Add the egg and vanilla extract, blending until well combined.
- Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in Chocolate Chips: Gently stir in the chocolate chips with a spatula, ensuring they’re evenly distributed.
Chill the Dough
- Refrigerate: Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and chill the dough for at least 30 minutes. This step helps the cookies maintain their shape during baking.
Bake the Cookies
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Scoop Dough: Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake: Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Cool: Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
