For the Baked Pasta:
- 1 lb penne pasta
- 1 lb cooked chicken breast, cubed or shredded
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup Italian breadcrumbs
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
Prepare the Pasta and Chicken
- Cook the Pasta: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Cook pasta in salted boiling water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Prepare the Sauce Mixture: In a large bowl, combine the cooked pasta, marinara sauce, cubed chicken, half of the mozzarella, and Parmesan cheese. Stir to combine and season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
Assemble and Bake
- Layer the Pasta: Pour the pasta mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Top with Cheese: Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan on top.
- Add Breadcrumbs: In a small bowl, mix the breadcrumbs with minced garlic and olive oil. Sprinkle evenly over the pasta for a crispy topping.
- Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the breadcrumbs are golden brown.
