Ingredients
Scale
For the Pears:
- 8 ripe pears (Bartlett or Bosc work great!)
- 1 cup of caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
For the Toppings (Optional):
- Crushed pecans or walnuts
- Chocolate chips or sprinkles
- Sea salt flakes
- Chopped toffee pieces
Instructions
Prepare the Pears
- Wash the Pears: Rinse the pears thoroughly to remove any dirt or wax from the skin. Pat them dry with a towel.
- Prepare the Caramel: If using store-bought caramel, heat it in a small saucepan over low heat. If you’re making your own, follow your favorite caramel recipe until it’s smooth and warm.
Dip the Pears
- Dip the Pears: Hold each pear by the stem and dip it into the warm caramel, swirling to coat the bottom half evenly. Let the excess drip off.
- Set to Cool: Place the dipped pears on a parchment-lined baking sheet or tray. Let the caramel set for about 10 minutes.
- Add Toppings: While the caramel is still slightly soft, sprinkle your choice of toppings over the caramel. Press them gently so they stick.
Chill and Serve
- Cool Down: Place the caramel-dipped pears in the refrigerator for 15-20 minutes to allow the caramel to harden fully.
- Serve: Once set, your pears are ready to serve! Arrange them on a platter or wrap them up as gifts.
