Apple Cider-Glazed Ham

  • Author: Christine
  • Total Time: 2 hrs.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Ham:

  • 1 fully cooked bone-in ham (68 pounds)
  • 1/2 cup apple cider
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

Prepare the Ham

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. Score the Ham: Place the ham on a roasting rack in a large roasting pan. Score the surface in a diamond pattern, about 1/4 inch deep.
  3. Mix the Glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together the apple cider, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, cinnamon, cloves, and black pepper until well combined.

Bake the Ham

  1. Add the Glaze: Brush half of the apple cider glaze over the ham, ensuring it gets into the scored areas.
  2. Roast: Bake the ham in the preheated oven for 1 hour, basting with the remaining glaze every 20 minutes.
  3. Check Temperature: The ham is done when it reaches an internal temperature of 140°F (60°C).

Rest and Serve

  1. Rest the Ham: Once cooked, remove the ham from the oven and let it rest for 15-20 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute.
  2. Slice and Serve: Slice the ham and serve it warm with your favorite sides.
